Sharing our lives with you……

Bro. Robinett was born and raised in Flint, MI.   As a teenager, his Uncle frequently invited him to come to church.   But of course, like most teenagers, there was always something more exciting to do.   Until one day, the tall long haired teenager made his way into a United Pentecostal church to hear a message called “Turn or Burn” preached by Bro Robert Bayer, “the Walking Bible”.  Well, as you can imagine the message had a significant impact upon this young man’s life.  At the end of the service, this young many made his way to the altar where he repented of his sins.    He later joined the military and enjoyed a long successful career with the United States Army until his retirement in September 2006.

Throughout his 22-year military career Bro. Robinett served as an infantryman, airborne soldier (for you civilians that means he jumped out of airplanes!), A Drill Sergeant, an Army Recruiter, and trainer for Army Reservist, which brought him to his final duty station at Grissom ARB, IN.    On several occasions Bro. Robinett wondered why the Lord was brining him 6 hours from home all the way to Indiana.  But what he did not know was that the Lord was orchestrating the opportunity to him to meet his future spouse.

Sis Robinett was raised in a small town in Northern WV and had left WV headed for a new job in Indiana.   But, little did she know that she would meet her future husband and come to learn and understand the truth of the Word of God.    It all started with a simple invitation to church…..   Often times, we worry someone will say ‘no’ but be careful you never know what will happen if they say ‘yes’!     As the months went by, we both grew in knowledge and understanding of the Word as we had been given the unique opportunity to sit under a strong Pastor – Nathaniel P. Urshan.

As we grew together, we both knew that we were meant to be man and wife.  So, on October 28, 2000, the two became one and started their lives together.  As the years went by we grew together by working side by side in various ministries from outreach to nursing homes, prison ministry to Children’s church; we learned much by putting our shoulder to the plow and working together for the Kingdom of God.    Although serving as outreach directors was a great experience, we felt God’s call to do something more for him.

When Bro. Robinett’s retirement from active duty happened, we waited for some direction in our lives.  But, instead nothing happened.  We waited, we waited and we wait some more!  Then, one day, Bro. Robinett got a call from Middlesboro, KY.  We were happy to accept the offer to come and preach but that was the extent of what we expected.  Little did we know that the Lord was going to rearrange our lives and make a way for us to move to Kentucky and pastor on a full time basis.

The book of Matthew states, “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).    Our lives are clear examples of this scripture.  As we both arrived in Indiana from different directions God put us on the same pathway when we developed “early morning prayer” at Zion Tabernacle.  One never truly knows the mindset of God unless you learn to trust and obey Him with all one’s heart soul and mind.

We never anticipated having the opportunity to learn and grow in the Word of God as we did.   It’s amazing how one message can affect countless number of lives.  “The Word became flesh” when we apply it to our everyday lives.  The Lord has been faithful and has displayed to us that truly ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!
